Principal Monica Murray:
Monica Murray has spent her career helping students and staff reach their fullest potential through mastery of learning, establishing an environment of building relationships, and providing immediate feedback to employ optimum student engagement on a daily basis.
Prior to serving as a Principal, Monica served as an Assistant Principal at Armstrong High School where she facilitated clear goals for curriculum and instruction, backward design for the creation of lesson plans, allocation of resources and evaluation of teachers regularly to promote student learning and growth.
Prior to her role as an Assistant Principal, Monica served the Richmond Public School (RPS) system as a teacher at Thomas C. Boushall Middle, Onslow Minis Middle School, George Wythe High School, and John Marshall High School where she was named a RPS Teacher of the Year Finalist and a R.E.B. Awards for Teaching Excellence Finalist.
Monica earned her Bachelor's of Science Degree from Virginia Union University and both her Master's and Certificate of Educational Leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Mr. Patrick Cheatham:
Patrick Cheatham is a native of Durham, NC and a proud Hampton University graduate. He received a master's degree in Special Education from VCU and an additional Master's Degree in Education Administration from Concordia University.
Mr. Cheatham has served the students of Richmond Public Schools for over 10 years as a teacher at Fairfield Court Elementary and Armstrong High School, Dean of Students at Armstrong High School and now as Assistant Principal here at John Marshall High School.
Mr. Cheatham focuses on effective instruction through culture and climate and believes in building relationships with students, staff, families and community partners as the essential means of extracting the greatness and excellence that resides in the students he serves.

Mr. Allen Vernon:
Mr. Allen Vernon's educational career began in Baltimore City Public Schools where he taught Social Studies. In 1999, Mr. Vernon had the pleasure of joining Richmond Pubic Schools, teaching World Georgraphy and Government at George Wythe High School.
After completing his Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from THE Virginia State University, he was hired as the Dean of Students at Chandler Middle School, and in 2004 moved onto Lucille Brown Middle School as the Assistant Principal.
In 2006, Mr. Vernon ventured to Nottoway County accepting the position as the Director of the Amelia/Nottoway Technical School and the Director of Career & Technical Education. Several years later, he was promoted to the Director of Operations and CTE.
In 2019, Mr. Vernon returned to Richmond Public School as the Assistant Principal of The Joy and Pride of Northside, John Marshall High School. His first love is working directly with the students and staff and this move was one that has placed a tremendous amount of joy in his heart.
